Football is for Losers

A friend and I recently IM'd this:

[after talking about some good games, I randomly inserted a sarcastic statement]

me: Video games are for losers.  I prefer to spend my time watchin' da Big Game.
me: With my buds, Boomer and Smitty.
friend: Haha B and I have had this discussion lately...
friend: That in US society it is totally acceptable for a male to devote an entire day to watching a Football game (usually over 4 hours with pre/post game stuff) but for any other hobby you won't get anyone's sympathy.
friend: If I was, say, trying to beat FFXII that afternoon you could imagine what the reaction would have been.
friend: Or if I was in a clan and had a meet up planned.
me: I'm blogging that for truth.
Are there any groups of Football Guys out there where one of the members is NOT named Boomer (pronounced Boomah) or Smitty?  I think not.

Everyday my wife thanks the maker that I'm not one of those Football Guys.  I thank myself.
